Advances in cognitive science have changed the way that we think about how people make decisions and revealed a new and growing set of insights that can aid us in designing successful change campaigns. In particular, these insights highlight that we must change our prevailing assumptions about our target audiences. We are emotional and embedded in social networks; and are influenced by the context of decisions and the way choices are presented. Due to those irrational decision-making processes these techniques have the potential to identify driving forces behind individuals’ decision to become involved in change initiatives. Due to limited numbers of successful campaigns, a closer look at findings from cognitive science can help improve our strategy to create more engaging campaigns on Social Media. the session will give tools on how to create stimulating engaging content and develop campaigns that last beyond awareness and make a real difference.
